Finding the best Fake Tan

It may be Winter I'm in the UK  but for me that doesn't mean that I have to be pale, and although I'm half Turkish, without a little bit of sunshine in my life & vitamin D then I could be related to Caspar. In the past I would have opted to use a tanning bed a couple of times a week to maintain a golden colouring but let's face it they are not the best for you and your skin although I have nothing against using them once in a while for me i'm trying to look after my skin and use prevention in terms of wrinkles etc.
Because of the above reasons I have been turning to fake tan more and more in recent times and let me tell you, it's actually a struggle to try and find one thats exactly what i'm looking for. I detest the smell of 98% of them that biscuit life is not for me i'm afraid and the whole transfer of the tan onto light clothing and particularly white bedding chrrrrristtt let me tell you the two do not mix. Even when they tell you there's no transfer, the likelihood of it actually occurring is extremely high.

Although some of my favourites do unfortunately have the annoying transfer and slight smell even when claiming to smell like coconuts I have however in the past used Bondi Sands Tanning Foam  Ultra Dark (£17.99) and Bondi Sands Liquid Gold Tan Oil (£14.99) before moving onto Australis Ultimate Dark Tanning Foam (Green Base) which turned out to be my absolute favourite as the colour was perfect on my skin tone as the different base colours adapt to the melanin in your skin. This means the green one is perfect for olive tone skin. It is also vegan and cruelty free.

However, even though these go on so well with no streaks and only slightly smell, once you've bathed in it for 8 to 12 hours depending on preference and rinsed it off in luke warm water and patting it dry, it does leave marks on your clothes and bedding especially if its white yikes! And I noticed that every time I showered the colour would run. It would also last around 5 days for me being super perfect.

This is what made me decide to try find a different one to see if there truly was a product which for 99% of the time would cause no transfer, and this is when I came across St Tropez Self Tan Purity Body Mousse. It is a clear water which turns to foam once pumped onto the tanning mitt and it is applied the same way as any fake tan. Few pumps into the mitt and in circular motions I start from my ankles and work my way up doing my feet and hands last I apply all over and even though its clear it leaves a little shine where it's been applied which helps you guide where to go. It's streak free when its dried and once you've left it 10 mins or so to be dry to touch you can get ready and go about your business. It requires no washing which is ideal when it comes to saving time and throughout the day it beings to gradually develop. Of course if you're looking for an instant tan then this is not for you as this is something which develops over a number of hours.

For me this is the perfect tan, as i've mentioned its streak free, easy to apply and leaves little to no transfer on clothes or bedding. It lasts a good 5-7 days and  silky soft, you can even top it up after a few days just like a moisturiser. Leaving only a slight smell until the following day.

It honestly leaves such a gorgeous looking tan, so natural and golden. It is a little pricey at £30.99 but it does go on offer a few times in different places and for me it's totally worth it.
