Victoria Beckham A/W 16-17 NYFW

Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2016-2017

It's been a few months now since Fashion Week and I was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms! It appears that the older I get the more interested I am in the Autumn/Winter fashion trends, that's not to say I don't care about the Spring/Summer collections, it's just that majority of the time i'm having to cover up and dress to keep warm as well as fashionable, so i'm always keen to find out the best cover ups and layering techniques. The joys of living in the UK ey!

Over the next few posts i'm going to be sharing with you my favourite designer collections so make sure to check back and let me know your favourites too! =]

I've been a fan of Victoria Beckham's collections for some time now and I find that they give the perfect blend of structure, femininity, sophistication and of course right on trend. I have to say that this latest collection is one of my favourites in terms of development in the design of items and the fabrics, prints and colour palette used.

"THIS collection is really about the evolution of my personal style,"
Victoria Beckham

The 'Victoria' brand started some fifteen seasons ago with a line up of only ten dresses and since then the collections have grew and grew in both strength of designs as well as popularity. You will often see her good friend Eva Longaria in one of her pieces and various other celebrities on the red carpet.

This collection for her was about rejuvenating the key pieces in which she has loved in her wardrobe over the years with one of the key trends being the corset.
Traditionally known for the evening attire sort of look she wanted to make it cooler and more daytime appropriate and I think she has managed to do this quite well.

I'm not so much a corset wearer myself (I don't feel I have the right shape to pul this look off ha) BUT I do think with the new less structured shape without the boning and in the lighter, softer fabrics they would be easier to introduce into my wardrobe.

As well as corsets, you will find slip dresses with a bubble hem midi length style as well as structured coats and blanket styles in tweed and oversized buttons.

Any thoughts on the collection ? Leave a comment below ...

I just love Victoria's laid back approach to her outfit!
