New Beginnings ; A Fresh Start

January is a month of firsts for a lot of people.
 They may use this month to start a fresh and put the past behind them and move onto better things. The obvious change for a lot of people is of course working out more and becoming healthier, but other things also may include quitting smoking and drinking as well as trying new things. 

For me personally 2015 brought a lot of ups and downs but towards the end of the year things started to change for the better and moving into 2016 I felt better in myself. Throughout 2015 I had lost confidence and certain elements of my own being had disappeared and I didn't believe in myself enough to think anything good could happen. 

You may think this sounds strange, as I may come across completely different from this, however I have battled with my own being for many years now and only over the last few months have I actually come to terms with a lot of things and started to let go of the past. 

 I of course only have myself to blame for letting things get to me before but I also have myself to thank for being able to realise the changes I need to make to become a better person and not hold myself back from creating the life I want. 

By all means I haven't done all of this by myself and I have had some incredible and genuine support from someone very special in my life. Someone who has offered encouragement and support as well as another perspective on life and I will always be thankful to them.
I have found that coming into 2016 with a more positive attitude has completely changed my mentality and it is beginning to change my wellbeing. 

 I have come to the realisation of a few thing over the last few months and I have come into 2016 feeling more motivated than ever. 

My 5 Tips to a Fresh Start 

1. Let go of the past - You can't move forward with anything if you still have hold of the past. Whatever has happened let it go it is in the past for a reason. 

2. Positive thinking - If you find a negative in everything then you're going to have a negative perspective. You need to think positive to enable good thoughts and a happy environment. 

3. Surround yourself with like-minded people - Involve yourself and focus on like-minded people who are as outgoing, positive and driven as you are. Remove those people around you who are trying to bring you down.

4. Make time for yourself - Don't forget you are number one. You need to make time for yourself each day whether its ten minutes or more. Think about the high point of the day and the low point. Once you have thought of the low point remove it from your mind and move on. 

5. Meditation - I have been told about mediation a number of times but didn't quite believe it could work. I've been practicing it for a week now and I feel such a change in myself. It feels as though I'm letting go of any of the negative thoughts I may have as well and instead I am filled with positivity and happiness and hope for a new beginning. 

Of course there are many other things which can help you have a fresh start. Working out is also great for this as it releases endorphins which help you feel happy and positive. Drinking plenty of water is also a great detox in getting rid of the bad from the inside. 

 I hope you enjoyed this post I know it is a little different from anything I've posted before but I wanted to share with you how my year has started and how I mean to continue.

    1. Thank you I really appreciate it. :) I had also thought the same thing about meditation however the more I am sticking to it i'm finding it is becoming really helpful and a great tool to use.
