New York

For those of you that didn't know today is the day that I am finally heading to New York City!! And I literally can't express how excited I am to be finally heading to the US!
I have never been to this side of the world before and so it's going to be such an exciting time with lots of adventures and firsts!

I plan on doing so much and I have so much to cram into the 6 days I am away. Apart from the obvious shopping and by shopping I mean literally taking the saying 'shop until you drop' to a whole new level I also plan on doing a lot of sight seeing and visiting different famous attractions.

I also plan on visiting the 9/11 Museum and memorial centre which I have wanted to do for so many years now. I know it is going to be extra emotional but I really want to experience that.

I'll be trying to get a few posts up whilst I'm away but as soon as i'm back i'll be posting all about my New York travels and letting you guys in on all the exciting things I've been up to.

If you guys can recommend anywhere for me to visit or go see then let me know!

Winter Evening Essentials

I think it is safe to say winter is officially here and it is becoming so so cold. This is why I thought it would be the perfect time to put together some of my favourite things available at the moment to get you prepared for the cold and dark nights which will keep you warm, cosy and comfortable.

I don't know about you but I actually like the cold and dark nights as it means you can get in from a busy day of work or whatever you've been doing and just get some comfortable pjs or lounge wear on and get cosy. Sit back and relax whilst drinking hot chocolate and watching movies - I don't think anything beats it actually. Especially on a weekend when you have nothing else to do.

I think one of the essentials during winter is of course the hot water bottle which keeps you extra toasty and I found that filling it up and putting it under the bed sheets 30 minutes before you go to bed helps warm the bed through and makes it that extra special when you get in. You can literally buy hot water bottles everywhere and they come in a variety of styles, sizes and colours.

I came across this one whilst I was browsing the internet one day - it's the 'Heart Fairisle Hot Water Bottle' from ASOS. In this gorgeous red colour and print it is perfect for Christmas time as well and oh so cute. Priced at £10.50 you can't really go wrong.
You can buy it here

Another must is of course slippers! Definitely need these to make sure our tootsies are kept warm and snug. Now usually I don't take much notice of the ones I buy I just get those that look cosy but then I came across the UGG Scuffette II Slippers and it completely changed my view. They are so toasty and soft on the foot and if you love UGGS as much as I do then you're going to love these as well. They come in a variety of colours and other styles are also available.
They are priced at £75 for these ones but I guess you get what you pay for.
You can buy them here

Now if you're not into slippers then why not try some slipper socks instead. They are obviously lighter weight and are just a bit thicker than socks so you will barely even fee you have them on. And again whilst I was browsing the internet and looking on one of my favourite sites I came across these cute little Christmas Santa Cosy socks. They are so cute and remind me of being younger and wearing those tote socks that meant you didn't slip on hard surfaces ha! They are only £8 for a pair which I think is reasonable for the festive season.
They are available to buy from here

Seeing as though I was already browsing the ASOS website looking for new items to add to my ever growing collection I came across this gorgeous Fleece Onesie with ears in a light pink colour. It is £28 and is absolutely adorable. I've never been a one for the onesie trend however this just looks way too cosy to pass up on on. It's so feminine and is one of the nicest ones i've seen.
It is available to buy here

I'm not usually a hot drink kind of girl they make me kind of flustered and warm (yes this is the point ha but it's just too much for me) however I can't deny the fact that at this time of year I love nothing more than a nice mug of hot chocolate with the occasional cream and chocolate sprinkles. And to those that know me it's no secret that I love Marie from Disney Aristocats and as soon as I seen this mug I knew it had to be added to the collection. It is £9.95 from the Disney store and to be honest I think this is reasonable I have a number of different ones and they've all lasted so long.
You can buy it here

These are just a few of my favourite essentials at the moment but i'm thinking of running a blog post sometime over the next couple weeks on a huge winter wish list of items perfect for this time of year.

I'll be posting a lot more of the next couple of weeks and I apologise for my lack of posts recently it's been such a hectic time for me.

But I will try to keep this more up to date and I will start doing a lot more hauls and things I am loving at the time. I have been collecting a few items recently ready to do a couple of posts.

Missguided - Lingerie

Misguided has fast become one of the most popular online shopping experience for us ladies and it has so much to offer under one 'roof' should be say. With the extension of their brand to being stocked in Selfridges in Manchester and of course their release of nightwear it was only a matter of time before they launched their very own collection of lingerie.

The collection offers a variety of different styles and fabrics from satin to lace and has something to offer quite a big audience. With intricate lace detail or strap detailing it is no doubt that this collection will be a huge success as it targets everything which is on trend right now.

Price wise this latest drop varies from £6 to £25 and so falls quite in line with other brands as well as those available on the high street which I think is reasonable as long as the quality matches up to the pricing.

Something which has disappointed me about this collection is the range of sizes available. As someone who struggles to find the perfect bra which fits correctly and being a DD/E it seems the padded and fitted bras in this collection would certainly not cater to myself as they range from 30-34  A-D cups. The lace bralets however go in size 6-14.

I have chosen a few favourite pieces from the collection but don't forget to check out the Misguided website to view the full collection.

Don't forget to let me know your favourites and if you have purchased any from the collection yet

Makeup Revolution Haul

As i've mentioned before I never used to be one for make up and trying new things but it appears my sister has now got me hooked and I love trying new beauty products and experimenting with different looks. She recently introduced me to Makeup Revolution which i'm going to be honest i'd never heard of.

Firstly I was introduced to the incredible eyeshadow palettes they have available. They have such a vast collection to choose from in various different shades and types from matte to those with that extra sparkle. I found they were really pigmented and that you could easily build up the colour to create your desired look. I also found you could easily blend the shades together.

The palette of choice for me was a one called the Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette 'Beyond Flawless'. You can find this here and costs £8 which I think is completely reasonable for such a variety of shades and is intact such a good buy.

I also picked up this Ultra Blush and Contour Palette 'Golden Sugar' which you can pick up here at a cost of only £6. I love the variety of colours in this palette and in particular I love the mauve colours. The palette features a collection of bronzers, merge blushers, baked bronzers and 2 merged baked highlighters. Everything you need in one place.

After picking these up I was lucky enough to get a couple different palette from their range for my birthday. I guess people are really starting to notice i've gone a little make up mad as well as fashion crazy.

The first thing I got was the I Love Makeup Naked Chocolate palette and this has got to be one of my favourites from the collection. It is available here for £7.99 and includes 16 shades to create a variety of looks from matte to smokey eyes. What I found amazing was that I felt like it really did smell like chocolate, now I don't know if I was imagining this or not, but either way it is amazing!

I love that it comes with its own long applicator and again the colours easily blend to create various looks. I also love the fact it does look like a bar of chocolate.

Another gift I received was the Ultra Contour Palette which again you can pick up here and is priced at £8. This is a collection of 8 powders to help get the perfect contoured and sculpted look. Two of which are merged baked highlighters which are perfect for illumination. I've actually used this already and I really love how the powders feel on the face and how easy they are to blend.
I use my Real Techniques bold metals collection contour brush and tapered blush brush.

I genuinely love these products and can't recommend them enough -  I will try to do a couple of looks using these products and put them up on my blog over the next couple of weeks.

They're super affordable and really good quality and they are fast becoming my go to palettes.

Have you used Makeup Revolution before? Do you have any favourites?
