What Got Me Into Blogging

For this post it's going to be short and sweet. I thought I would just let you all know what got me into blogging and why I think it's for me. Firstly i've always been into fashion and into the design and creating aspects of it since I took textiles in school. I've always been into designing and creating my own things and I have books filled with various sketches of things I longed to create.

As I started to get older I realised that my interest was growing with me and I wanted to learn more about brands which included designer as well as hughstreet. I think i've always had a love for the 'finer' things in life shall I say - not to say i'm stuck up in any way shape or form - but I have always and still do believe that 'you get what you pay for'. So when it comes to shopping I would rather save up for that one 'perfect' item than buy other alternative options or buy a variety of something.

My first designer purchase was a Gucci bag which I saved hard for many months and I ended up buying it as treat to myself for my 21st birthday and ever since then my obsession has just grown. I then added to the collection by investing in a Gucci purse and a Louis Vuitton bracelet which surprisingly I still use to this day - 5 years later almost and they're all still going strong. Apart from the odd wear on the bag and purse they still hold their original shape and have their original colouring. This is what I expect when I buy high end items.

Then about a year or so ago I decided to set up a blog and I just started posting random things that I liked etc but it didn't really do anything for me and I wasn't getting any views or responses which kind of knocked my confidence so I gave it up which was maybe my own fault because my heart wasn't in it and I wasn't posting regularly enough to even build up support.
Then it wasn't until about 7months ago that I decided now is the right time for me to start blogging again and really give it my all.

When I post blog posts now I love hearing feedback and i'm always looking to improve my style and format and how I can get my work across and make it appealing to everyone so they take an interest and want to read more. I spend hours watching my favourite bloggers and vloggers picking up useful advice and handy tips on maybe how to stand out from the crowd and with each post I start to get more creative with my ideas.

I know my blog is far from perfect but I definitely think that by working hard and remaining positive it is something that I can make a permanent fixture in my life. It's not something I honestly just do but it's genuinely something that interests me and I find it therapeutic almost when I write.
By doing this I have been able to attend some great events and get first hand looks at new season trends and it's all part of the fun. I love meeting like minded people and everyone is genuinely lovely.

I would love to keep blogging for a long time and I find it works perfectly alongside my current day job and lifestyle. It's a great outlet for me to share my favourite products and looks and styling outfits is also fast becoming one of my hobbies too.

Jules B Mid-Season Sale

I'm sure you will have seen my previous blog post about my attendance to the Jules B A/W Bloggers Preview (if not you can find it here =]) well I had never heard of this cute little boutique before however I have fell slightly in love with this place. It stocks a variety of different brands from Vivienne Westwood to Senso and even Kenzo and if you don't live in the Jesmond, Newcastle area then you can shop the array of brands on their website www.julesb.co.uk

They currently have a mid-season sale on with a large range of items with up to 70% off. Now 'sale' is one of my all time favourite words and i'm sure you can imagine why ha! This is when I love to search the internet for all kinds of goodies at great discounted prices - it's the perfect time for picking up some Designer bargains that won't necessarily break the bank.

I've been browsing their website and I have found some incredible buys and some pieces I would love to definitely add to my growing collection. I've decided to share some of my great finds with you  from some of my favourite brands as well as my latest finds.

My first find which is perfect for A/W is this gorgeous 'Munthe Metallic Stripe Gine Sweater' in a nude/grey colouring. I love the oversized look and colours used and I love how it's a fine knit as opposed to a chunky knit. It would look great with some fitted jeans and boots.

Originally priced at £179.99 it is now on sale for £143.99.

My next find is these beautiful 'Senso Kelsey Lizard Ankle Boots' which are just incredible. I just love the heel design and how they are a cute ankle boot perfect with a dress and tights or some jeans and they are a classic boot and style which can be worn year after year.

Originally £184.99 they are now on sale for £157.24.

They are available to buy here

Every girl needs a little black dress in their wardrobe for that 'go to' dress and this 'Helmut Lang Gala Slash front dress' is perfect. Figure hugging in all the right places with the cut out detailing to add that extra little something.

Originally priced at £264.99 it is now available for £79.50.

It is available to buy here

Bomber jackets have been a big hit in terms of the perfect cover up option and this 'McQ Alexander Mcqueen Reversible Bomber Jacket' is beautiful. It's so unique that it is also reversible as well and so from first look its a typical black bomber but once reversed it has an incredible print on display.

Originally priced at £389.99 it is now available for £117.00.

It is available to buy here

Jeans are a staple piece which can be worn a number of ways and can be dressed up or down and these '7 For All Mankind Blue Super Skinny Rich Jeans' are perfect. I love the skinny fit and the colour denim. They would look great with the Munthe Metallic Jumper and the Senso boots.

Originally priced at £214.99 they are now available for £161.24.

They are available to buy here

Another great buy I found is this 'Barbour Outlaw Waterproof Jacket' which is perfect for a variety of different weather conditions. I like that this one has a detachable fur hood and is of course waterproof.

Originally priced at £208.99 it is now available for £177.64.

It is available to buy here

My final pick is this 'Michael Kors Campbell Small Satchell Bag' which is just so lovely. I love how it has the small handles as well as the strap so it can be worn over you.

Originally priced at £259.99 it is now priced at £220.99.

Beauty & Skincare Haul

Over the last few weeks i've been building up a nice little beauty collection. As i've mentioned before I haven't always been the beauty/makeup lover but I am fast becoming obsessed. I watch hours and hours of Youtube videos and tutorials from an array for different beauty bloggers and I have been able to pick up so many different tips and advice on the best products to use.

Because of this I have slowly been building up my own collection (it's even gone as far as having to buy a new set of drawers to store all my beautiful goodies in - whoops) but I must say because I have done research into the various products I have been able to make wise choices in items which are good to invest in.

One of the first things I invested in - although it's not really a beauty product as in make up -  is the 'Redken Pillow Proof blow dry two day extender' dry shampoo. Now I first seen this on FeelUnique along with more of the Redken range however I didn't really know how much of a life saving product this would be until I seen a review from Victoria on Inthefrow 's Youtube page. This spurred me on to read more reviews and find out more about the brand.

I decided to purchase it from FeelUnique and within a few days it arrived. Now i'm a sucker for a dry shampoo as I don't like removing all the natural oils from my hair and with dying it a lot I don't like to over wash the hair (as bizarre as it sounds) so i'm always using a dry shampoo to get an extra day or two between washes as well as to help with volume. Dry shampoo's have come a long way since I first started using them and these days they are much more than a helping hand between washes.

What I loved about this particular brand is how it removed any excess oil from the hair and it didn't leave it feeling powdery or clogged up with product. It's light on the hair and leaves it feeling soft and  definitely gives you an extra day or two. Overall I would give this product an 8/10 and although it is slightly more expensive than highstreet and drugstore brands with it being priced at around £16 I do think it's worth it if it's something you would get a lot of use out of like I do. As I said I got mine from FeelUnique which you can find here where you can pick one up for £13.90.

One of the next products I invested in was after watching blogger Carli Bybel from thebeautybybel and one of her 'Get ready with me' Youtube videos. The product i'm talking about is theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer - and let me tell you this product is HEAVEN.

I'm starting to learn more about make up and the vast range of products that are available and because i've been trying to master the art of contouring and strobing you need an amazing highlighting product in your makeup bag. And ladies this product is it!

I have been putting it on the cheekbones and temple slightly as well as the brow bones, down the centre of my nose and across my cupids bow to accentuate the lips. It goes on so easily and can be built up with more product to get the desired look. I would give this a 10/10 just because it is such a good product and well worth the £17.50 price tag. I think it will last quite a long time and I love how cute the packaging is as well. I ordered mine from FeelUnique which you can find here and it came within 4-5 days free delivery which I think is great.

The brush is from Real Techniques and again I ordered this from FeelUnique and it is the Setting brush priced at £6.99.

If you have seen one of my previous blog posts you will have seen my review of the Bondi Sands tanning foam and so since I have started using that I have been wanting to make sure my skin is healthy and exfoliated on a regular basis and so it was whilst I was out shopping that I found this Palmers Cocoa body scrub. I think it's £4.99 and the tub is a reasonable size but what sold me was the incredible smell! As soon as you open it all you smell is chocolate and it smells amazing!! I think I could literally eat this it smells so good. I used to use the Soap & Glory body scrub however I think this Pamers Cocoa is going to be new found favourite!

It's great for exfoliating the skin and leaves it super smooth as well as smelling amazing. Speaking of skin care I also picked up a couple of these face masks - a Limited Edition Vanilla Fudge self heating mask, a Honey peel off mask and a fruit exfoliating mask. I have really sensitive skin but I find these masks perfect and they don't cause me to break out or anything!

I picked these up from my local Superdrug store but I'm sure you'll be able to find them online also.

Remember I used FeelUnique for my order - and it came within 4-5 days. Such a great service and they currently have some great offers available ;

20% OFF* when you spend £80 with code GIFTME20
15% OFF*when you spend £50 with code GIFTME15
10% OFF* when you spend £30 with code GIFTME10

I hope you enjoyed the read - Let me know if you can recommend any beauty products that are a must have =] I love trying out new things.

Wardrobe Look Book ; Autumn/Winter

I decided to do something a little different for this post in terms style. I thought I would take a little look in my wardrobe and see what I could find and what outfits I could put together with items that I may have purchased some time ago but are still on trend. Showing that if you buy wisely you'll be able to pick up items which can see you through year after year and it's just about maybe styling them differently or adding different accessories.

Firstly I came across a red check/plaid shirt that I bought last year from the TRF collection in Zara. I think I paid around £25 for it and I literally fell in love with it. I think it's such a versatile piece of clothing and can be worn and styled a number of different ways. Whether it be worn loosely open over a vest top or t-shirt, buttoned up completely or even tied around the waist, the possibilities are endless.

Plaid style shirts are always on trend and because of their versatility they can worn over and over again. There are so many like this available on the high street and so i'll definitely bringing this out of hibernation.

I decided to wear mine with some jeans rolled up at the bottom with a pair of ankle boots. Now the jeans are from the Amelie collection from River Island and the boots are from Zara - again last year but there are similar ones still available on the high street now.

First I wore the top buttoned up with half tucked in just to make it a more casual look.

Next I wore the top completely out and buttoned up so it was more a fitted shirt style.

I then tied the two ends up so it was a shorter, cropped version and really casual.

My next look features a simple leather look skirt as well as a simple tee in khaki. Now this skirt I must have had for over a year now which I got from New Look Generation (I know this is for kids but of it fits ha) but leather is a huge trend for autumn/winter again and to be honest it never goes out of fashion. The khaki tee is a recent purchase from Zara (i'm obsessed with Zara I know ha) and it fits so well and can be styled up or down.

I first chose to wear it a pair of Zara heels I found in my cupboard whilst tidying. They are so comfortable and I have worn them so many times and they're still in really good condition.

It can look equally as good worn with flat shoes - again these studded versions are from Zara and are super comfortable.

Next I found a black and white striped shirt dress which was a recent purchase from Select. What I liked about this shirt is that it has a tie around the waist so you can pull it in to accentuate the waist and have it feminine or leave it open and loose over a midi dress. I paired it with some knee high black boots with a chunky heel which are super comfortable and are definitely on trend right now.

I love how feminine this looks on. With the added sexiness with the knee high boots. Shirt dresses tend to always make a comeback probably due to them being so versatile and effortless.

Keeping with the shirt dress theme I then found this black check split side shirt that I bought from Zara earlier on this year I think. I love wearing it over a tee and some jeans or leggings but I love how it can also be worn over a cute midi dress for that extra grunge style. Especially teamed with some heeled boots that go just above the ankle. These are from Carvela but I got them a few years ago now.

My last look is a simple midi ribbed dress teamed with some nude shoes. Simple yet classy and elegant and can take you from day to night with just a change of the shoes. The dress I recently bought from Topshop as it was on sale for £15. The shoes are Christian Louboutin 100mm pigalles.
